Dr. Scott Middleton has been a clinical psychologist with the U.S. Army and numerous law enforcement agencies for the past 34 years. He received his Ph.D. from the Ohio State University and completed his post- doctoral internship in clinical psychology from the U.S. Army. He is also a trained and certified aeromedical psychologist. A retired U.S. Army LTC, he has served for the past 15 years in support of numerous military and governmental special, missions units. He has also served as the FBI HRT psychologist for the past 10 years. While serving with the U.S, Army Special Operations Command, he was responsible for the development and fielding of numerous 360 degree leader development surveys and coaching programs. Dr. Middleton has also served as the Clinical Director of U.S. Army Substance Abuse Program at Fort Bragg, NC and holds specialty certification in substance abuse treatment from the APA College of Professional Psychology. Additionally he has taught coursework at the graduate school in the fields of clinical and counseling psychology and served as the internship supervisor for counseling interns at Womack Army Medical Center. Dr. Middleton is one of SPA’s first professional consultants. Presently, Dr. Middleton is President of Leading Edge Consultants, Inc., which specializes in selection and assessment, leadership development, person's of interest psychological analysis, and organizational consulting. Dr. Middleton lives in Southern Pines, NC with his wife Tracy and their daughter Megan. The Middleton's serve on the Younglife Board in their community.
